Back to the College Football Uniforms
Adidas saved New Mexico State’s day in 2012 with a welcomed uniform redesign, summoning basic Tech-fit apparel featuring double contrasting sleeve stripes to remove the stain of what was an un-matching atrocity in recent years.
The Aggies’ on-field look was all over the place with Adidas in 2011, a bad mix of different shades of red and stripes that didn’t match in shape or length. On New Mexico State’s previous uniform options, double stripes lined the ribcage and stopped at the end of the jersey. When they began again on the Aggies’ pants, only one stripe was seen.
Say what?
The Aggies moved to a rather generic new helmet in 2009, ending a four-year stretch with white lids for cardinal shells. Instead of the script “AGGIES” wordmark, New Mexico State applied a “NM STATE” graphic. Minus the mismatching jersey-pants stripes, New Mexico State’s all-white road uniforms with white shells from 2006-08 was one of the WAC’s best combinations.
During that same stretch, the Aggies wore a pink ribbon helmet during a 2008 home game against San Joe State in “an effort to promote breast cancer awareness and raise money for research projects in New Mexico.”
