Colorado State Rams Football Uniforms

Back to the College Football Uniforms

Colorado State will have a fresh look on the gridiron this season.

Under Armour and the Rams inked an all-sports deal in November 2012 to outfit the Mountain West program for the next several years. The redesign will be the second for the Rams in as many seasons after Russell Athletic updated its thread prior to the 2012 campaign.

Russell Athletic’s longtime partnership with Colorado State came to a close after athletic director Jack Graham looked to Nike and Under Armour to help usher the Rams in a “Bold New Era”. Last season, Colorado State went back to basics with uniforms free of stripes or piping.

The Rams’ home greens featured a small “COLORADO STATE” wordmark in gold and gold numerals outlined in white. Pants were vegas gold with the program’s primary rams logo in green on the left hip. In all, the renovated threads might as well have been throwbacks modeled after what was worn by the Rams in the early 2000s.

In previous recent seasons under Russell Athletic, the Rams’ gameday threads featured fade patterns along the sides of pants and sleeves and the school’s gold was a darker hue. Colorado State’s updated UA threads have yet to be revealed but you can bet in Year 1 that the Rams will receive a rather generic current template.

They’ll have options of green or white jerseys along with green, white and gold pants. According to concept art released by Colorado’s athletic department, uniforms will include contrasting sleeves stripes and wide contrasting vents along the thigh. Since 1993, Colorado State has stuck to its guns during the helmet craze with green shells and gold horns. Facemasks were painted from white to green in 1995.

In the 1970s and 80s, the Rams looked like the Green Bay Packers with green and yellow as primary colors. New helmets are expected with Under Armour.
