Back to the College Football Uniforms
And just like that, Arkansas State’s amazing hire of Guz Malzahn was gone.
At least the Red Wolves still have some pretty stellar red and black uniforms. The Malzahn experience lasted only one season, but Arkansas State’s redesigned Adidas uniforms unveiled in 2012 are here to stay.
Among the numerous options on gamedays is a black top-red pants ensemble that corresponds well together. Red numerals outlined in white on the black jerseys are intensified. The program’s new primary wordmark, “STATE”, can be seen across each jersey — white, black or red — in oversized font.
Claw marks have been added to sleeves and piping to shoulders. The Red Wolves have donned black shells since 1980, but added a matte version prior to Malzahn’s debut. On the backs of Arkansas State’s current get ups just above the nameplate appears the program’s secondary logo — a growling wolf in red.
Base layers have been revamped to include the same logo on each bicep instead of solid team color shirts in previous years.
From 1969-79, Arkansas State’s helmet choice was deep red with a white facemask and white logo of an Indian. Arkansas State didn’t become the Red Wolves until 2008. During the 1990s, Arkansas State utilized the same color scheme on its jerseys but colors were muted and numerals shadow-boxed.
