Back to the College Football Uniforms
The Green Wave is set to debut four new helmets in 2013 and that’s no misprint.
In addition to the program’s white shell with green and blue stripes worn since 2010, Tulane is expected to bring out light blue, gray and two updated white helmets soon. The anthracite gray and light blue lids feature the program’s revised tide rushing “T” primary graphic while one of the white models as an oversized green wave sticker.
In recent years under the swoosh, Tulane has embraced its sea blue third color in its gameday garb with heavy striping and numeral accents. In 2013, the Green Wave is expected to fully welcome light blue and anthracite gray with alternate pants and jerseys options.
Currently, a “TULANE” wordmark is promptly displayed across each look with green accents on the Green Wave’s white tops and the inverse on their greens. The biggest problem with Tulane’s yet-to-be released gray alternates is that the shade is two times darker than its light gray helmets. How that will translate on the field on gameday remains to be seen.
All-green has been a program favorite inside the Super Dome the last several years, but Tulane’s newly-designed all-white road combination is the program’s most fitting uniform.
Prior to signing with Nike, the Green Wave’s Russell Athletic threads were generic and free of light blue accents.
