Back to the College Football Uniforms
One of Under Armour’s initial schools of choice in 2008, the Golden Bulls have significant uniform upgrades since the rookie season prototypes were revealed in Tampa. South Florida’s patented green and gold pops off its current look better with UA than it did with Nike — the Golden Bulls’ former uniform supplier.
Helmets have been altered from mustard gold in the 2000s to metallic in recent years and a glossy green alternate has been added. South Florida has used its horned “U” as its primary logo since 2003, five years after the football program’s first season.
A white shell debuted in 2008 and has been worn sparingly since, updated in 2011 with gold accents.
South Florida has many different on-field combinations to choose from including white and green tops and white and green pants. Gold pants are used occasionally as an alternate. Under Armour has pushed numerals from the sides of sleeves to the tops of the shoulder with its latest revamping in 2011. At home, South Florida prefers white helmets, green tops and white pants while the road get ups have more options.
During the 2011 season, South Florida debuted camouflage uniforms against Miami for Under Armour’s “Wounded Warrior” campaign. Normal green tops and pants were detailed with camo while helmets received the biggest change. AquaTech shells made by Schutt featured distressed gray and black stars and stripes with a metallic horned “U” logo in green.
